Insurance

Sky Express LLC maintains auto liability, cargo, and general liability coverage at or above the limits required for our authority, with active BMC-91/BMC-34 filings on record with FMCSA. A current certificate of insurance is issued directly by our agent on request during carrier setup — email hr@skyexpresstrucking.com or call (816) 256-8329.

Hours of Service and ELD

Every tractor in our fleet runs an FMCSA-registered electronic logging device. Hours of service are monitored against 49 CFR Part 395, and dispatch is not permitted to plan a load that cannot be run legally. Drivers are instructed to shut down when they are out of hours or too tired to continue, regardless of the appointment.

Driver Qualification

Drug and Alcohol Program

We operate a DOT drug and alcohol testing program under 49 CFR Part 382, including pre-employment, random, post-accident, reasonable-suspicion, and return-to-duty testing, administered through a third-party consortium and queried through the FMCSA Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse at hire and annually.

Maintenance and Inspection

Equipment is on a scheduled preventive-maintenance program. Drivers complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections and file driver vehicle inspection reports; any defect affecting safe operation takes the unit out of service until it is repaired and signed off. Annual DOT inspections are kept current on tractors and trailers.

CSA Scores

We monitor our CSA BASIC scores continuously and address any roadside violation with the driver involved. Current scores are published by FMCSA and can be reviewed by anyone through the SAFER link above.

Cargo Security

Loads are sealed at origin where the shipper requires it, seal numbers are recorded on the bill of lading, and drivers are instructed not to break a seal without dispatch authorisation. High-value freight is subject to secured-parking and no-drop rules. Live GPS tracking is available on every load.

Reporting a Safety Concern

If you have witnessed unsafe driving by one of our trucks, or you are a driver who needs to report a safety issue without going through dispatch, contact us directly:

Phone: (816) 256-8329
Email: hr@skyexpresstrucking.com

Please include the date, time, location, and the unit or trailer number if you have it. Reports from our own drivers are handled without retaliation — coercion of a driver to violate a safety regulation is prohibited under 49 CFR 390.6, and any such report is investigated.
